Private Tutoring structure

  •  We offer private tutoring in a few different forms, each with their own price point as detailed in the (sessions > pricing page)

    • At Home Tutoring

    • In Office Tutoring

    • Online Tutoring

    • Group Tutoring

  • Please note that at home tutoring sessions are restricted to weekends at specific time slots to allow time for travel and is for Wyndham city residents only (max travel time of 25 minutes)

  • A session begins at the start of the hour (e.g. 9:00, 10:00) and tutoring ends 5 minutes before the end of the next (e.g. 9:55, 10:55). The last 5 minutes of a session are for packing up, last minute questions, etc.

    • This is to ensure that there is enough time to pack up and welcome the next tutoree without taking their time
  • For students doing a double session, this time can be used as a brief break to help keep them engaged

  • We try our best to adjust our tutoring method to fit the need of the student

    • We still try to follow a general structure, which involves explaining new content at the start of the session, working through questions together in the middle and finally trying to get the student to independently attempt questions towards the end

    • This is not a hard rule, and we will deviate from this if we believe that is what the student needs
  • We try to provide all resources that a student would need for any in person tutoring (for both in our office and at your residence)
  • We still ask that a student tries to bring any materials they require themselves

Free introductory session

  •  Each new student is eligible to have a free first introduction session

  • This session goes for the length of one normal tutoring session

    • The first half of this session will focus on the parent, student and tutor all getting to know each other, explain policies, tutoring options, etc.

    • The second half will be like a normal tutoring session so the parent and student can experience first-hand what the tutor is like before making a commitment
  • This free introductory session cannot be substituted for a free regular tutoring session
  • If a tutoree declines the introductory session for their first session, they cannot try to claim it at a later date

Referral Program

  •  We offer a referral program for mathemagical tutoring

    • When someone signs up for tutoring at mathemagical tutoring for the first time, they may name a pre-existing mathemagical tutoring tutoree or their guardian who referred them to us

    • If the newly signed up tutor goes ahead with the tutoring and has a paid session;

      • The referee will get 25% off their first paid session
      • The referrer will get 25% off their next paid session

  • Please note that you are only eligible for the discount if

    • The referee names you as their referrer before their first paid session
    • The referee has a paid tutoring session with mathemagical tutoring
    • We have availabilities for the referee to receive tutoring
    • The referee has not previously received tutoring with mathemagical tutoring

Time slots

  •  Our operating hours are listed in our calendar as well as below

    • Monday-Wednesday                         5pm-9pm
    • Weekends                                          10am-5pm

  • Specific time slots can be reserved for ongoing weekly tutoring

    • When you reserve a time slot, you are also reserving it as one of  specific types of tutoring

      1. At Home Tutoring
      2. In Office Tutoring or Online Tutoring
      3. Group tutoring
  • Changing time slot or tutoring time can be done by contacting us in advance, before your next session by at least a day

Session cancellations/non-attendance

  •  Sessions can be freely cancelled if we are contacted and confirm them cancellation the day before the session would have taken place

  • If the session is cancelled by the tutoree on the same day as the session or the student doesn’t attend without notice, penalties apply

    • This will usually be a penalty fee equal to half the normal cost of the tutoring session missed
    • The fee may be waived in cases of unforeseen circumstances up to the discretion of the tutor

  • If the session is by the tutor is cancelled on the same day as the session or the tutor doesn’t attend without notice

    • A makeup tutoring session will be offered at a time convenient to the tutoree
    • This make up session or the next regular session will be free

Customer Dissatisfaction/ Refunds

  •  We do not offer refunds for sessions due to client dissatisfaction

  • If a session has not been productive in any way or some major disruption to the tutoring occurs, we may refund the fee for that session

    • This is solely up to the discretion of the tutor
